Potomac, Maryland, December 9, 2016 – Full Circle Research Co., is proud to announce its role as co-sponsor and panel provider of the 2017 Sawtooth Software Marketing Analytics Consulting Challenge. University teams, typically graduate students, will use Sawtooth Software’s conjoint analysis (CBC) plus other survey techniques and analytics/software packages to field a case study based on a real business problem supplied by Sylvan Learning. Current confirmed teams are: The Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Brigham Young University, University of Utah and James Madison University.
“There’s both pride and excitement in our role for this consequential competition,” said Adam Weinstein, co-CEO of Full Circle. “Being on the forefront of our industry involves a commitment to every kind of resource: technological and human. When Sylvan Learning invited us to participate, we jumped at the chance to help propel, inspire and educate the future of our industry.”
“I have intimate knowledge of the Full Circle’s panel quality and was thrilled when they signed on for significant reasons,” said Rebecca Cunningham, Senior Manager of Consumer Insights at Sylvan Learning. “One, it ensures that the teams’ analyses are as accurate as possible, thereby increasing the value of the findings for Sylvan Learning. Perhaps more importantly, it exposes the students to a level of data purity that they should expect and demand as professional researchers in the future.”
The competition takes place over a three-month period. Phase I, during January and February, allows multiple student teams from the same university to conduct their primary research, work that is often incorporated into a course for credit. From there, one team and its advisors will travel to Salt Lake City for Phase II, where a panel of judges will select the winners from up to 12 teams. First place receives $3000, second place $2000, third, $1000. Students will also participate in additional classes and hear keynote speeches at the event.
“We are grateful for Full Circle’s sponsorship as it gives an opportunity for these students to work with real-world data. Opportunities like this give insights not only into consumer behavior, but into what it is like to work in the exciting area of marketing analytics,” said Byan Orme, President, Sawtooth Software.
