Musings from a VP, Marketing ///
Full Circle is one of the top thousand fastest-growing private companies in America. It’s true! We were just named #917 on the Inc. 5000 list.
And all I can think about is the fact that my title is misleading. Yes, it covers the act of identifying and executing Full Circle’s marketing initiatives. That, alone, is a full-time endeavor. But I’m also our copywriter and creative director. Media buyer. Advertising account manager. I handle most of our HR. I most certainly support sales. Oh the many hats I wear.
And what about Adam and Nate? As founders and owners they’ve got the entrepreneur-thing down pat. There’s hardly a role they haven’t covered themselves, nor has there been a day they haven’t mulled the next strategic hire to perhaps take it off their plates.
And that there’s the key: “strategic.” The pair has long said they want to grow slowly and smartly. This means avoiding the crash-and-burn that plague so many new companies by, instead, focusing on sustainable growth that ensures we’re in it for the long haul.
Which brings me back to our spot on the Inc. 5000 list. It proves it’s possible to increase your bottom line without sacrificing customer service and quality product. You just have to be OK with having a little hat-head along the way.
Update: Full Circle also made the Inc. 5000 list in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
